3 Easy Ways to Support Your Fellow Stylists

One of the best things about our industry is the amazing sense of community.

Our industry is one of the few on the planet that truly pulls together when weโ€™re faced with uncertain situations like we are now. And there is currently a phenomenal outpouring of positivity, support, and more from stylists across the world.

If you want to lean into this phenomenal feeling and help support other stylists in your area and even around the globe, keep reading! Today weโ€™re sharing our top three tips to help you get involved in this amazing community.

Get social online

You should absolutely be present on social media for your clients and followers, but also consider joining some Facebook groups just for our industry.

These groups are so important to keep connections and share support, especially when we canโ€™t get together in person right now.

Look for ones that focus on positivity, strategy building, and uplifting the industry (like the Thriving Stylist Instagram!). These will be full of people that fully participate and share your good energy.

Donโ€™t be afraid to get social in these spaces. Offer tips that have worked for you, constructive criticism, and support. You never know what a kind word or another set of eyes on a project can do.

Share your ideas

We are going through this transition together as an industry, so donโ€™t be afraid to share whatโ€™s working in your business!

Remember, with an abundance mindset, we know that there are enough clients to go around, so thereโ€™s no harm in sharing your fantastic marketing ideas, right?

If something has worked amazingly with your clients – like an online hair shampooing tutorial or social media post that got a ton of engagement – share that idea with your fellow stylists!

Be positive

We are lucky to work in one of the worldโ€™s most recession-proof industries because – letโ€™s be real – everybody wants to look good, right? Nobody wants shaggy hair.

If you feel negative, know thatโ€™s okay and take a moment to fully acknowledge that feeling. Then allow yourself to shift back to an abundance mindset. Know that there are plenty of clients to go around and that if you work on your business and try to find the positive as much as you can, you will thrive.

Once youโ€™ve moved back into an abundance mindset, offer positivity and support to your fellow stylists. Maybe itโ€™s in one of those online industry groups, perhaps itโ€™s on your own social media, or even just a quick text message to a coworker, telling her youโ€™re sending her good vibes.

A little positivity can do wonders, especially right now.

Our industry has the amazing ability to work together and unite for each other. Letโ€™s pull together in this time of uncertainty and make magic happen!
