4 Amazing Ways to Stay Connected with Your Clients

We always knew connecting with clients is a huge priority, right?

They have to trust us to wield those shears or color brush in just the right way to make them feel beautiful.

And in all this uncertainty, it’s become mega clear that staying connecting with our clients is beyond valuable.

Even though some of us aren’t yet back in the salon, still truly connecting with clients can be the key to retention, more client referrals, and a phenomenal reputation.

Basically, staying connected with your clients right now helps make your business stronger.

So today, we’re showing you the top four ways to help you truly connect with your clients during this time of social distancing. (And, even if your state isn’t requiring social distancing, these are still great ways to do.)

Get social online

If you’ve been hanging around here, you know social media is a key part of finding new clients, right? But it’s more than that: it’s huge in building up stronger relationships and connecting with the beautiful clients you already have!

Don’t forget: social media is a place to be social. So ask what they want to see and create videos answering their deepest questions. Show them how to truly wash their hair, properly apply deep conditioner, or do the perfect messy bun.

Use your social media to be a beacon of light and positivity, and show them how to take care of their hair so they look gorgeous even when they can’t be in the salon.

Send cards

Sending cards through the mail is tried and true for one reason: people love getting surprises in the mail.

If you don’t have any note cards, order some today. Then block a few hours on your schedule this week, pull up your clients’ physical addresses, and start writing notes.

You can keep it simple with a “thinking of you” note or make it more special by adding tips on maintaining their hair (and even a product packet or two!).

Whatever you decide to do, know the gesture itself is huge for your clients.

Send an email newsletter

Did you hear that sigh of frustration? That was stylists all across the world, groaning at the thought of email marketing.

Love it or hate it, everybody checks their email on the daily, making email marketing one of the BEST ways to get (and stay) in touch with your clients.

Whether it’s monthly or weekly, keep up with sending out your email newsletter. Just the act of showing up in your clients’ inboxes will be so comforting to them.

Not sure what to talk about? Here are a few ideas:

  • Send them links to all the great videos and workshops you’re making!

  • Let them know how they can buy products from you.

  • Give them your best tips to make their style look amazing right now.

Create care packages

If you have the budget for it and want to step up from just sending cards, consider care packages. These can be as simple as bags with product packets, some candy, and a card.

Load up your car, put on your mask, and drop these sweet packages off on their doorstep.

This tiny action will make their day and almost guarantee they’ll be in line for your chair the moment your salon reopens.

Keeping in touch and connecting with your clients is a simple way to show them you care and that they’re on your mind. It can be simple or a little more special, but whatever way you decide to show up for your clientele right now, know that it is so meaningful to them.
