Did you know there’s actually a huge connection between setting goals and finding success?
Seriously.
Studies have shown that creating and chasing goals is “linked with higher motivation, self-esteem, self-confidence, and autonomy” and “research has established a strong connection between goal setting and success.”
Basically? Goal-setting is the best way to make big things happen not only in your business, but in your life!
But, let’s be real: actually setting those goals can feel seriously overwhelming, right? Like where do you even start?
Don’t worry because today, we (the Thrivers team!) are sharing our top goal-setting tips and favorite tools with you!
Welcome, everybody! Let’s get started with what’s your favorite goal-setting tip that you just have to share?
-
Believe in yourself. I’ve had so many people doubt me and my abilities, but you’re in charge of your own success. So when I set goals for myself, from the get-go I have to remind myself that “I can do this”. – RC
-
Focus on what MUST get done, and let everything else wait for another time. Focusing on finishing a couple of tasks well is way better than getting lots of tasks halfway done. Reassess your goals quarterly and only take on new projects or tasks if you truly have the space for them. – Jess
-
Take each task one step at a time. Go all in on the highest-priority task before moving onto the next one. Trying to do too many things at once is a sure-fire way to get yourself overwhelmed and stuck. – Hayley
-
Write it down and speak it into the universe. – JV
-
Set small tangible goals that you can actually work towards! Often, we create these massive, unrealistic goals and we don’t follow through with them because we get overwhelmed. Setting smaller goals will help you work towards that bigger goal you’ve been aiming for. – Jenn
-
Check in with your goals every single day. Having a daily reminder of why you’re showing up, why you want this, why it’s important to you is huge. – Ellen
-
Set a goal with a deadline and add tasks with due dates that accomplish that goal and write it down. – Vanessa
Do you have a favorite physical planner or app?
-
Rifle Paper Co. planners because they’re so dang pretty. Just looking at it makes me want to open it every morning and get after it. – RC
-
As dumb as it sounds, my #1 struggle with physical planners has always been that if I mess them up aesthetically somehow, I get annoyed and stop using them. So Google calendar is my best friend right now because it’s pretty much impossible for me to mess up. – Jess
-
I don’t have a specific brand but I LOVE paper planners and big desk calendars. Anything where I can see my whole month at a glance to really goal-set and stay on track. – Hayley
-
I love a physical planner, but 2020 had me feeling like my planner went to complete waste! I do have an alternate planner that lets me plug in the days of the week/dates/etc. myself which has been a great back up planner this year. – JV
-
Agendio because you can fully customize it to your needs. – Jenna
-
I’ve been using a Planner Pad for the last 3 years and I LOVE the way it keeps my week organized! – CT
-
Google Docs and Google Calendar. – Lauren
-
I love the Start Planner. Helps me organize my personal and work stuff all in one planner. I really like how it has space for weekly and daily to-do lists and hourly daily calendar space. – Franchesca
-
I’ve used the Simplified planner for years and I love how clean the layout is! For my goals, I use Powersheets. Visually seeing my progress is a game changer. – Ellen
-
Planner Pad for weekly and monthly events, Google Cal for meetings, daily to do sheets that I fill out every morning and assess at the end of the day. – Vanessa
