I was drawn to the industry because I always had a flair for art and creativity, and I knew I wanted to have a true career path when I graduated high school, not just a fallback or side gig.

When I joined beauty school, I saw that not only was it creative and fun, but also spoke to the technical and analytical side of me. 

But when I graduated and started working behind the chair, all I saw was tired and burnt out hair stylists hustling. Some made good money but at a high cost to their time and health.

I had a full clientele but I was working long hours and didn’t know where to keep growing without working more or double booking. I had no idea what having a dream client meant so I ended up with clients who drained my energy.

Then I started listening to Britt’s podcast and realized, “Whoa. There’s a better way to do this and have better work-life balance.” Somewhere in me I knew it was possible but to hear that it actually was something I could achieve changed everything for me.
